Herbal Thai Style Massage

This is a unique form of massage that is practiced in many spas in Thai beachside resorts and is becoming more popular here in the West.  

Herbal compresses are heated in a herbal steamer and the warm bundles are applied directly to the skin during a massage session.   In addition to the wonderful heat, the compresses are filled with herbs that have a relaxing and invigorating effect on the body and the mind, soothing sore and overworked muscles, whilst giving a boost for the body’s energy levels.    The flow of the massage follows the flow of energy in the body and acupressure points are also worked.   Stretches can be incorporated into this type of massage if you wish.

Thai herbal compresses can be used up to three time, however, once used they can only be kept for about a week before they start to deteriorate.  Therefore, at the end of your massage treatment, you can, if you wish, take the compresses home with you and use them to infuse your bath water with the wonderful aromas of the herbs.
